Venice.

Hello stranger. It's been sometime, I have been so busy, caught between working a day job, interning of an evening and freelance writing on top of that. I'm exhausted the majority of the time these days and it doesn't take long for my eyelids to flutter and shut up shop for the day, when I get in from work.

Whilst I have been busying myself, my parents decided to fly to Venice last week for a few days and get away from this terrible weather. They had a fabulous time and took some beautiful photos which I edited for them on their return. They are so lovely and colourful I had to share them.

Getting super inspired by colours and nature at the moment so these photographs were a warm welcome into my life, I am so excited to share them with you. They have embellished my wanderlust.

As I have been so busy, you can always keep up with me via Pinterest, Tumblr or Instagram.

Travel sickness.

As I mentioned the other day, unfortunately I have no holiday planned this year.
Are any of you off anywhere nice this Summer?
I think because vacation is missing from my life I have spent my working days lost in a dreamlike state thinking of where I can escape to when it is more possible for me to do so. For the rest of my life I believe I will be caught up in a whirlwind of wanderlust, longing to explore the world and all the nooks and cranny's I am missing out on.
I'm currently planning to start saving in less than two weeks to go to New York again in December aswell as considering where to go away next Summer to make up for not being able to this year. Will it be travelling around Italy or around the west of America?

I recently made a 'travel' board for my pinterest so I can spend my time drooling over what I'm missing out on. Filled with envy my parents are going to both Venice & Greece this Summer and perhaps New York at Christmas too.

Where is everybody else off to?

Tiger, tiger, burning bright.

Today I woke beside the sun and travelled to London for an interview with Zara.
Besides from the interview I had a feast fit for a king, visited William Blake and Daniel DeFoe's graves, caught sight of a Banksy (which had infact been graffitied on - graffiti on graffiti...the mind boggles) and a Shepard Fairey (my favourite street artist) and read Ghost World in the Barbican.

Within minutes of seeing this shoot, this image is one of my all time favourites.
I am still trying to understand why.

Un Vodka tónica para el señor Warhol

After reading the latest Harper's I have to say it left me feeling pretty envious of Jade Jagger. Many people have an issue with rockstar's offspring, famous for nothing. I have never seemed to let the issue phase me, my opinion differs from person to person. Stella, yes. Peaches, no.
This piece however isn't about what they have achieved now, the article, if you haven't read it, is written by Jade Jagger herself and talks about her time spent as a child in Long Island. She casually describes how she would sit and draw with Andy Warhol after a long day at school, go on wild walks collecting natural artefacts with New York photographer Peter Beard and how she taught the two of them along with Halston to play monopoly and backgammon all before her age reached double figures.
I became instantly covetous of the wild childhood I imagine she had had, travelling from continent to continent, caught in the crazy notions spoken by the mouths of these passionate visionaries. To imagine a world where these creatives are just normal people and you can shift between cultures in a blink of an eye without a care in the world, a Utopian world, where all is bliss.
I sit and daydream all day through, fantasising about going on adventures and all the while there is Jade Jagger who has lived and breathed my pipe dream, so casually and so free.

Don't be mistaken I am not a green eyed monster just someone with a fanciful notion.

Wanderlust

travel

I have always had a longing to explore, to have adventures like Hemingway & Kerouac. Their lives appears so romantic between the pages, a yearning to see new things, breathe unknown air, learn more about myself and the world around me.
America.
North & South
This is where I'd like to begin, moving from state to state, country to country, with just a rucksack and a camera. With an open ticket I want to have the opportunity to just pack my bags and go, not knowing when I will return, in a week, a month or in a year. I will miss home more than anything but there isn't anything I want more than to see the world.
For now though I will just dream and plan. One day
